Ultras Palmeiras: In short, we are a group of Palmeiras fans, completely free from any kind of connection other than our Club and our Country.
Casual Romania: – Describe the „Ultras Palmeiras” group for us!
Ultras Palmeiras: The term „Ultras” characterizes us because of our way of acting freely, so that we fight and surpass ourselves in our moments of support for our club and our country.
Casual Romania: – Is this a white ethnic group or is this not a criterion for its members?
Ultras Palmeiras: We are not prejudiced against race or color, because we are from a very mixed country.
Casual Romania: – How do you describe the type of manifestation and the image of the group? Is it closer to the European ultras style, the South American fanatic style or a mixture of both styles?
Ultras Palmeiras: A mix of both styles
Casual Romania: РHow did you choose to support Palmeiras? How are the Ṣo Paulo fans divided between the teams?
Ultras Palmeiras: The vast majority of Ultras Palmeiras are of family origin, where they come from father to son, hierarchically.
Casual Romania: – Does your group base its existence strictly on the ultras code and on unwritten laws, hierarchy, etc.?
Ultras Palmeiras: Yes, we have a set of rules and a hierarchical organization.
Casual Romania: – What does the word ULTRAS mean to you?
Ultras Palmeiras: ULTRAS stands for maximum love and self-surpass to defend our club and country above our own lives.
Casual Romania: – What is the biggest achievement of the Ultras Palmeiras group?
Ultras Palmeiras: Maintaining our aim without deviation, which is to support our club and freedom, is our greatest achievement.
Casual Romania: – How do you evaluate the movement of organized fans („torcidas organizadas”) in Brazil?
Ultras Palmeiras: We believe that these days many Brazilian fans have allowed themselves to deviate from their goals due to financial and personal interests.
Casual Romania: – How does your group integrate among the rest of Palmeiras’ organized fans? Are you all collaborating? Are there any problems between you and the rest of the „Mancha Verde” groups?
Ultras Palmeiras: We have no problems with any organized Palmeiras supporters to this date.
Casual Romania: – When you play away, do you stay in the same sector as the rest of the fans?
Ultras Palmeiras: No, because in Brazil the sectors are separated by the police.
Casual Romania: – Who are the rivals of Palmeiras fans?
Ultras Palmeiras: In this order: Corinthians, Flamengo and São Paulo are the main ones.
Casual Romania: – For Ultras Palmeiras, who is the main enemy of the team and the group?
Ultras Palmeiras: Corinthians.
Casual Romania: – What is the most memorable game you have seen from the stands? can you describe?
Ultras Palmeiras: I think for all Palmeiras fans, the most memorable was the victory in the Copa Libertadores final against Flamengo.
Casual Romania: – How often do organized supporters suffer abuse from the police? Are there arrests very often?
Ultras Palmeiras: It was worse, but now the situation is under the control of the authorities.
Casual Romania: – Do you do sports training in a group or individually? Do you think contact sports and fitness are important components of the phenomenon?
Ultras Palmeiras: Yes, the vast majority of our members practice bodybuilding and physical activities.
Casual Romania: – Are drugs tolerated in your group?
Ultras Palmeiras: We do not accept drugs.
Casual Romania: – How much does the mafia influence the fans?
Ultras Palmeiras: We have no involvement with any kind of mafia or criminal organizations.
Casual Romania: Is Ultras Palmeiras a self-proclaimed group of ultras and nationalists? Are you targeted by other groups or authorities based on your ideology?
Ultras Palmeiras: We can say yes, we love our country as well as our club, and everything that goes against the two, we are against.
Casual Romania: – If you were to look at the whole movement of organized fans in Brazil, what would be the proportion between: left-wing, apolitical and right-wing fans?
Ultras Palmeiras: It’s really hard to answer that, I think it’s very divided.
Casual Romania:- Do you involve political issues in your group’s activities? How?
Ultras Palmeiras: In Brazil, fans avoid getting involved politically because they are lynched by the media and the authorities.
Casual Romania:- – Do you have relations with political organizations? Which?
Ultras Palmeiras: We don’t have..
Casual Romania:- Do you also follow the national team? If so, how difficult is it to maintain unity or tolerance among other Brazilian fans?
Ultras Palmeiras: At matches of the Brazilian national team, organized fans do not show up with their banners and shirts, so that there is no friction affecting our country.
